About The Studio

Lydia Michelle Piano Studios offers private piano lessons for beginner and intermediate students for all ages at her home studio, other music studios and at students’ homes. Lydia strongly encourages students to perform in music festivals, concerts, recitals and talent shows.

I love getting the younger student engaged in the beginning of the lesson by first getting the student excited and engaged for the lesson with various fun theory flashcard, memory, techniques, exercise and rhythm games and activities that they love doing. This stimulates them into having that desire in wanting to learn piano while gaining musical education, knowledge and experience in learning their theory and various other important musical material, for a solid, firm musical education and experience. This also gains their confidence, encourages and motivates them by easing them into the lesson way easier when getting into their warm ups and pieces soon after their fun activity exercises.

We also work on other skills such as motor skills, listening skills, emotional growth, sight reading skills, muscle memory, coordination skills and exercises, self-expression, touch, and relaxation when playing. I put my students’ well-being first above teaching them, making my students as relaxed and comfortable as they possibly can be when they have difficulty in grasping, learning or understanding a concept, method or their material, me patiently explaining and guiding them through their confusion. I also get my students used to proper practice routines and habits in the studio, in order for them to accurately practice on their own at home when given their assignment and material to practice for the week. It provides them a better understanding, knowledge and confidence in what they already have learned in class, instead of not having that stable form of guidance and accurate way in how to practice when it comes to practicing at home. I would strongly recommend keeping a balanced practice schedule in order for the student to form a stable practice routine, making it easier to form that consistent habit and also in reaching their goals.

Private piano lessons are offered weekly in 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions and I’m also very flexible in doing make up lessons, changing lessons or adding in an extra lesson for the student in the same week, if desired. If you’d like to make any changes with a lesson, please let me know ahead of time, so that it would be more convenient for me in being flexible enough with changing around my schedule for the changed lesson. I’m very dedicated and devoted with each student that I teach. My goal is to expand musical creativity and for my students to get the best, possible musical experience, education and result that they hoped for while they have fun learning and find joy within music.
